Crawlspace

Location: Lexington, KY 40517

Problem: Mold can pose both structural problems and health concerns if left in a home. This home had experienced consistent moisture issues in the crawlspace. Our inspection revealed a patch work of many vapor barriers that did not adequately cover the crawlspace floor. Mold on the floor beams and insulation were also observed during the inspection. Lastly, moisture seepage was observed coming through the concrete block walls.

Solution: Lightspeed Restoration removed 1,188 sqft of insulation, the existing patchwork vapor barrier, and trash. Next, we proceeded with our standard process for remediation, using our HEPA vacuums and antimicrobial solutions, we removed the mold spores from all contaminated surfaces in the crawlspace. Following remediation, new code compliant insulation was installed along with a new 6-mil vapor barrier with taped seams along the floor of the crawlspace. Lastly, MaxGuard was applied to the walls of the crawlspace to prevent moisture seepage through the concrete block wall.

Mold Removal in Crawlspace

Location: Nicholasville, KY 40356

Problem: Mold was discovered in the crawlspace during a routine real estate inspection. Condition to complete the sale of the house was that the crawlspace would be professionally remediated.

Solution: Lightspeed Restoration contained the crawlspace under negative pressure from the rest of the house. The crawlspace was HEPA vacuumed and all wood surfaces were cleaned with an anti-microbial disinfectant and a stain remover. The result, a new looking crawlspace, and a completed home sale.

Mold Removal in Crawlspace and Installation of Vapor Barrier

Problem: During HVAC upgrades in the crawlspace, mold was discovered. AdvantaClean was contacted to inspect and resolve the issue.

Solution: Lightspeed Restoration removed mold impacted insulation and debris from the crawlspace. Next, under negative pressure, Lightspeed Restoration HEPA vacuumed the crawlspace, then applied anti-microbial and stain remover. Lastly, Lightspeed Restoration installed a 6-mil thick vapor barrier to the walls and floor of the crawlspace to control moisture.

Lightspeed Restoration contained the attic from the rest of the house and HEPA vacuumed the entire area. Lastly, we cleaned all of the wood surfaces with an anti-microbial disinfectant and a stain remover. The result, a healthy home with a new looking attic.

Problem: Homeowner discovered mold growing in the basement.

Solution: Lightspeed Restoration of Lexington evaluated the basement and determined moisture from the improperly sealed window was the cause of the mold growth. Lightspeed Restoration removed the old caulk and properly sealed the area with new caulk. Next, Lightspeed Restoration setup containment using an air filtration unit around the impacted area and removed the mold using a HEPA vacuum. Following removal, Advantaclean applied an encapsulate to the area.
